Gut Bacteria & It’s Role in Disease Reversal & Prevention

Our gut is one of the most fascinating bodily systems. It is an incredible machine, and we are just scratching the surface of the role our gut plays in disease, from autism to allergies to diabetes, & everything in between. When functioning properly, it’s microbiome can keep us free of pathogens- the very fungi, mold, & bacteria that lead not only to acute illness but to mood disorders and even cancer. The trick is balancing this ever-so delicate microbiome. Processed foods, viruses, high-sugar diets, vaccines, chemicals, & other toxins throw this balance off, inevitably leading to disease. When the “bad” bacteria & fungi are not kept in check, they proliferate and leak into our bloodstream, quickly becoming systemic, and disrupting whole organ systems. Many of us are experiencing symptoms that can be traced back to an unbalanced gut. Skin conditions such as chronic rashes & eczema are just two examples of this.

Many don’t know, but the spike protein in Covid obliterated our bifidobacteria, which is why we have seen a non-stop illness the past 3 years.

There are many accounts of parents reversing their child’s autism by committing to certain diets and probiotic supplementation.

Supplementing with probiotics, either through fermented foods or commercially made probiotic pills, is one of the first recommendations made by the gut guru and creator of the GAPS diet, Dr. Campbell-McBride. An adult should have around 15-20 billion bacterial cells per day, a toddler 2-4 billion, a child 8-12 billion, & a teenager 12-15 billion. You should remain on probiotics for at least 6 months to remove pathogenic flora while simultaneously removing sugar & processed carbohydrates from your diet. However, it may be necessary to indefinitely continue consuming fermented foods daily. The best time to take commercial probiotics is with food or directly after, when stomach acid is bound to the food allowing the pills to somewhat avoid the acidity of the stomach.

Your first priority when reversing & preventing disease should be your gut.
