A friend told me she sips on Turmeric-Ginger tea everyday and it has significantly reduced her pain associated with inflammation, so I wanted to share her remedy! She suffers from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which can cause symptoms similiar to menopause. However, many women, even without PCOS, suffer from joint pain during menstration. This is because during this time, estrogen levels dip which can lead to painful joints.

Estrogen is a primary female hormone, it protects joints and reduces inflammation. Estrogen levels naturally dip during menstruation, and significantly decrease during menopause. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and when paired with a bioenhancer, such as ginger, it is even more effective.

Turmeric-Ginger Tea Recipe:

  • 2 cups water

  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric

  • ½ teaspoon chopped fresh ginger

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 lemon wedge

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan; add turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes.

  2. Strain tea into a large glass; stir in honey and serve with lemon wedge.

There are many Turmeric Tea recipes you can trial. Another one that contains more ingredients for better absorption as well as immune boosting properties linked below:
